The label editor: tweak, then export
Two tabs, a live preview, and a deliberate split between the fields you can edit and the ones the label will not let you change.

The editor opens from Edit label in Label Studio, carrying the generation you just made. It has two tabs and a live preview of the real label — the same components the server uses to export it, so what you see is what prints.
Export, or save a new version
Three buttons sit together: Download, Print and Save to Library.
Download and Print send your edits as one-shot overrides on that export — nothing about them is written back to the generation you opened.
Save to Library is a save-as-new: it clones the generation you're editing, with your product name, nominal net weight, tagline, decoration mode, motif and font pairing baked in, and files the clone in your Label Library. It never overwrites the label you opened, so a tweak you don't like costs you nothing. You get a confirmation toast when it lands.
One limit worth knowing: Save to Library appears on the Product tab only. The Regulatory tab has no generation to clone from, so the button isn't rendered there at all rather than sitting greyed out.
The Product tab
Editable: product name, nominal net weight, decoration mode, accent motif, font pairing.
Shown but locked: the lot code and the measured net weight.
Those two are locked because they are facts about a batch you actually made. A nominal net weight ("8 oz") is a label claim you're entitled to phrase; a measured weight and a lot code are records. The editor shows them so you can check them, and refuses to let you type over them.
The Product tab's preview is always a circle proof, and if you export without choosing a stock it defaults to the 2.5" circle — matching what you were looking at rather than the Studio's rectangular default.
The Regulatory tab
Editable, behind an override toggle: business name, address, email. The toggle is there because these normally come from your Brand Kit, and an edit here applies to this export only — it doesn't quietly rewrite your studio's details.
Locked, never editable: the lot code, the measured net weight, and the full regulatory warning set.
The warning text is not a field. It is the point of a compliance label, and a label that lets you edit its warning isn't one.
Where the ingredient statement lives
If your product carries a cosmetic ingredient statement, the Regulatory tab is where you can actually read it — in full, at a readable size, rather than as microscopic type inside the preview. Under it sits a disclosure explaining where the names came from and what has and hasn't been checked.
That disclosure is worth reading once. It's covered in Ingredient statements and compliance.
A product with no ingredient statement — a candle, a resin piece, a true soap bar — shows none of that, rather than an empty heading.
Custom motifs
In the non-painting decoration modes, the motif is the small mark that carries the design. Pick one from the library, or describe one and have Ellie draft it. Motif generation has its own hourly cap, separate from label art — see AI label art.
