Adding molds (and the 5-mold free limit)
Add your molds so Ellie knows your yields — plus how the free-plan 5-custom-mold limit works and how to free up a slot.

Your molds tell Ellie how much each pour makes, so she can size a recipe to fill them. You can start from a ready-made template or build your own from scratch.
How a mold's size is figured
A mold's total volume is cavity count × volume per cavity — tell Ellie how many cavities it has and how much each one holds, and she works out the total for you.
Templates vs custom molds
- Templates — ready-made common molds you can use as-is.
- Custom molds — ones you create, or templates you've changed to match your own.
Heads up: Customizing a template turns it into a custom mold, which uses one of your custom-mold slots.
The free-plan limit: Custom X/5
On the free plan you can keep up to 5 custom molds. A Custom X/5 counter shows how many you've used, and once you reach five, adding another brings up an upgrade wall.
If you've hit the cap but aren't ready to upgrade, you can Restore a custom mold back to its template form — that frees a slot without losing the template underneath. Upgrading to Maker lifts the cap entirely; see Free plan limits & what upgrading unlocks.
